[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) will start selling new tourist souvenirs themed around the ‘Songpa Dullegil’ and the ‘Solitary Tree’ in Olympic Park from June 1.

As the number of tourists visiting Songpa gradually increases, the district has been producing new souvenirs every year based on culture, history, and tourist attractions, which are sold at the Songpa Tourism Information Center.

In fact, visitors to the Songpa Tourism Information Center have steadily increased from 10,793 in 2017 to 13,613 in 2018, and 18,715 in 2019.

This year’s souvenir themes are the ‘Songpa Dullegil’ and the ‘Solitary Tree’ in Olympic Park, which are key projects of the 7th local government administration.

The ‘Songpa Dullegil’ is a 21km circular trail connecting four waterways surrounding Songpa-gu: Seongnaecheon, Jangjicheon, Tancheon, and the Han River. The district has incorporated symbolic images of landmarks and scenery that can be encountered along the Songpa Dullegil, such as Lotte World Tower, Seokchon Lake, Olympic Park, and Garak Agricultural and Marine Products Market, into the souvenirs.

The ‘Solitary Tree’ in Olympic Park is a representative healing spot in Songpa that has gained fame through SNS and various advertisements. The souvenirs depict various scenes of visitors resting at the Solitary Tree, allowing them to keep memories through the souvenirs.

A total of eight newly produced souvenirs are available. These include practical daily items such as mugs, tumblers, grip-toks, wood coasters, bookmarks, and keyrings. They can be purchased from June 1 at the Songpa Tourism Information Center located at 180 Jamsil-ro, Songpa-gu, near Seokchon Lake.
