[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] Lim Young-woong opened up about his filial piety toward his mother.

On the 23rd, KBS 2TV's 'Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend' aired a special episode for the Song Hae Song Festival, featuring 'Mr. Trot' contestants Lim Young-woong, Young Tak, Lee Chan-won, Jung Dong-won, Jang Min-ho, and Kim Hee-jae.

In the broadcast, Lim Young-woong shared his thoughts on his first appearance on 'Immortal Songs,' saying, "I was so excited that I lost sleep at night. I am happy."

He continued, "Last year, I came as an audience member to 'Immortal Songs' and wondered when I would be able to stand on that stage. I feel so happy and get goosebumps."

Especially, Lim Young-woong also revealed his desire to repay his mother. He said, "I always tend to dream big. When I debuted, I wrote on a calendar, 'I will definitely give my mom 100 million won in cash on her birthday in 2020.' It was actually an unrealistic amount, but I wrote it as a dream." He added, "Until last year, it was an unattainable goal, but after winning Mr. Trot, I can now make it come true."

He continued, "I haven't given it yet, and there are taxes and other things, so I plan to prepare the 100 million won to give to her on her birthday," which warmed the hearts of viewers.

When asked when he thought about making his mother happy, he answered, "When I was in the military, I thought a lot about my family. When she came to visit me for the first time after the training period ended, I cried so much."

He said, "I reflected on the years my mother lived and thought about how hard it must have been. My father passed away when I was five, and my mother raised me alone. Thinking about those years made me cry."

Regarding the song he will perform on the main stage, Jin Mi-ryeong's 'Miun Sarang' (Hateful Love), he explained, "Song Hae teacher likes it, but my mother also likes this song."
