Buying Wine with Disaster Relief Funds... Emart24 Offers Up to 46% Discount on Wine

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Emart24 is offering up to 46% discount on 25 wine items until the 31st.

Emart24 stated on the 24th, "Due to a sharp increase in wine sales in May compared to the previous month, we have prepared a discount event," adding, "An analysis of wine sales from the 1st to the 22nd showed a 20.6% growth compared to the same period last month." This is the result of an increase in home drinking culture enjoying wine due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). In particular, wine sales from the 13th to the 22nd of this month accounted for 53.7% of the total sales in May. The company analyzes that the emergency disaster relief funds influenced wine sales.

Accordingly, Emart24 has prepared a special price event so that customers can purchase wine at reasonable prices. Among the 25 items, a total of 16 items are composed of cost-effective wines priced between 10,000 and 20,000 KRW.

Representative wines include ▲ ‘Lafite Private Reserve Bordeaux (750ml)’, a Bordeaux red wine made by the Ch?teau Lafite Rothschild winemaking team, one of the five major ch?teaux ▲ ‘Roche Mazet Cabernet Sauvignon (750ml)’, ranked number one in sales in France, the home of wine ▲ sparkling wine ‘Bosio Tropical Moscato Passionfruit (750ml)’, among others.

Additionally, Emart24 has selected two wines, Real Compania Tempranillo and Canti Moscato Famiglia IGT, as the Wines of May and is selling them for 8,900 KRW.

'Real Compania Tempranillo' is a wine made from 100% Tempranillo, a representative Spanish grape variety. It is also well known as a serving wine on Cathay Pacific Airlines.

Canti Moscato Collezione di Famiglia IGT is a refreshing sparkling wine made from 100% Moscato, blending the scents of acacia and jasmine flowers with fresh fruit aromas, making it ideal for summer drinking.

Meanwhile, Emart24’s liquor specialty stores, which significantly expanded their wine product lineup in February last year, have surpassed 1,800 stores as of May.
