[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] Known as a 'golf enthusiast,' U.S. President Donald Trump played golf on the 23rd (local time) for the first time in two and a half months. It was his first visit to a golf course since March 8.

On that day, President Trump visited 'Trump National,' a golf course in Sterling, Virginia, about a 30-minute drive from the White House.

Although President Trump usually visits the golf course every weekend without fail, he had refrained from doing so due to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The day before, Debbie Birx, White House COVID-19 Task Force coordinator, clarified in a briefing that "enjoying sports like golf while maintaining social distancing is acceptable."

AFP reported that President Trump's visit to the golf course demonstrates his determination to return the United States to normalcy.

Meanwhile, President Trump is scheduled to attend the launch event of the manned capsule by the private space exploration company 'SpaceX' at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, on the 27th.
