[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] BTS member Suga's mixtape 'D-2', released after 4 years, has topped the iTunes 'Top Albums' chart in 80 regions worldwide.
Big Hit Entertainment announced on the 23rd at 8 a.m. that Suga's mixtape 'D-2', released under the stage name 'Agust D', ranked number one on the iTunes 'Top Albums' chart in 80 regions including the United States, Canada, France, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, Japan, and Peru.
The title track 'Daechwita' ranked number one on the iTunes 'Top Songs' chart in 50 regions worldwide. The song samples the royal procession music Daechwita. Through the lyrics, Suga compares himself to a 'tiger' and delivers powerful rapping.
The 'Daechwita' music video features backgrounds such as palaces and marketplaces. The music video surpassed 20 million views on YouTube around noon on the same day.
Previously, 'D-2' is Suga's first mixtape work in about 4 years since his first mixtape 'Agust D' released in 2016. Suga participated in writing and composing all 10 tracks.
Additionally, the Suga mixtape features collaborations on some tracks with BTS's RM, singer-songwriter NiiHWA, American singer-songwriter Max, and Nell's vocalist Kim Jong-wan.
