On the 22nd (local time), the Brazilian Ministry of Health announced that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Brazil reached 330,890. This is an increase of 20,803 cases compared to the previous day. It is the first time that daily confirmed cases in Brazil have exceeded 20,000.


With this, Brazil has overtaken Russia to become the country with the second highest number of confirmed cases worldwide.


According to the COVID-19 statistics from Johns Hopkins University in the United States at this time, the number of confirmed cases in the U.S. is 1,600,481, Brazil has 330,890 cases, and Russia has 326,448 cases.


So far, 21,048 people have died from COVID-19 in Brazil.
