The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 22nd that students from 66 high schools in five districts?Michuhol-gu, Jung-gu, Dong-gu, Namdong-gu, and Yeonsu-gu?are scheduled to return to school starting the 25th.
The education office made this decision after all students who had visited Seoul Fitness Incheon branch, a specialized physical education entrance exam academy in Yeonsu-gu attended by the two confirmed third-year students, and Vision Plaza, a coin karaoke building in Michuhol-gu, tested negative.
A total of 972 students tested negative in this COVID-19 screening, including 129 academy attendees and 843 visitors to Vision Plaza.
Vision Plaza is the location of Top Coin Karaoke, which was visited by the student and their friend of instructor A (25) from an Incheon academy, who tested positive after visiting Itaewon clubs.
The two confirmed third-year students in Incheon also tested positive after visiting the same coin karaoke on the 6th.
The Incheon Office of Education stated, "Since the confirmed students used multiple public facilities and there are many unconfirmed movement paths, and because there is a high possibility that peers also used these facilities, there is concern about infection upon returning to school," and on the 20th, all students from the 66 high schools were sent home.
