Galaxy Note20 Rendering Revealed... Camera Resembling S20 Rendering images of the Galaxy Note20 revealed by Ben Geskin

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Rendering images of the 'Galaxy Note20,' which Samsung Electronics will unveil at the upcoming August Unpacked event, have been released.

According to industry sources on the 22nd, Samsung Electronics is considering holding this year's second half Galaxy Unpacked event, traditionally held in New York, USA, online. Due to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), large-scale offline ICT events have been canceled one after another, and companies like Apple and Facebook are also holding their annual conferences online. As the COVID-19 outbreak shows no signs of subsiding, Samsung Electronics is reportedly deliberating various options. Even in the absence of variables like COVID-19, Samsung Electronics secures multiple potential venues before making a final decision.

This year's Unpacked event is expected to showcase the Galaxy Note20, a new Galaxy Watch, and the Galaxy Fold2. Specifications and rendering images of the flagship smartphone 'Galaxy Note20' are gradually being revealed. The Galaxy Note20 will have reduced bezels compared to its predecessor and a screen size approximately 0.12 inches larger. The aspect ratio will also be longer than the previous model's (19:9), changing to 19.5:9. According to images released by IT specialist Twitter user Ice Universe, the rear will feature a vertically arranged triple camera. Except for the front camera area, the rest of the front will be filled with the display.

There are also changes in the function and position of the S Pen, a distinctive feature of the Note series. According to rendering images released by IT media PigTaw, the location for storing the S Pen has shifted from the right side to the left. Due to the S Pen's position change, the volume control buttons may be moved to the right side. IT media SamMobile explained, "Rendering images may not fully reflect the design elements of unreleased products, so the S Pen's position is expected to remain as originally placed."

The Galaxy Note20+ will be equipped with a 108-megapixel camera similar to the Galaxy S20 Ultra, but it is highly likely that the 'Space Zoom' feature, which allows up to 100x zoom, will be excluded. Space Zoom was highlighted as a representative camera feature of the Galaxy S20, but due to controversies related to autofocus functionality and privacy concerns, this feature appears to have been omitted. Compared to the Galaxy Note10, which supported a maximum 16-megapixel camera, the camera resolution is significantly improved. The overall design inherits the Galaxy Note10, but the rectangular induction rear camera design and camera specifications reflect features of the Galaxy S20.

Due to the camera lenses, the Galaxy Note20 is also expected to be thicker than its predecessor. The dimensions of the Galaxy Note20 are estimated to be 161.8 x 75.3 x 8.5 mm, which could be 0.6 mm thicker than the Galaxy Note10+ (162.3 x 77.2 x 7.9 mm). SamMobile stated , "The design of the Galaxy Note20 is very similar to the Galaxy S20, and due to cost issues, the zoom camera will be retained. We need to see how closely the renderings match the actual images."
