Galaxy S20+, Ranked as the Best-Selling 5G Smartphone in the US for Q1
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Galaxy S20 series took the top three spots for the best-selling 5G smartphones in the United States.
According to market research firm Strategy Analytics (SA) on the 20th (local time), the ranking of 5G smartphone sales in the U.S. for the first quarter was ▲ Galaxy S20+ (40%) ▲ Galaxy S20 Ultra (30%) ▲ Galaxy S20 (14%) ▲ Others (7%).
Since last year, Samsung Electronics has continuously launched 5G smartphones, successfully securing the market. While Apple has yet to release a 5G iPhone, Android smartphones are showing strong performance. The shipment volume of 5G smartphones in the U.S. for the first quarter was 3.4 million units, accounting for 12% of all smartphones released in the U.S.
Yuha Winter, Deputy Director of SA, said, "The competition for 5G smartphones has begun in the U.S., and among them, Samsung is far ahead of Motorola, LG, and OnePlus," adding, "5G early adopter consumers are willing to pay extra for a faster mobile experience, and manufacturers including Samsung need to rapidly expand 5G smartphones and secure as many customers as possible before the 5G iPhone is released this coming summer."
