Hanwha Q CELLS, High-Power Solar Module 'Q.PEAK DUO G9'

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Hanwha Q CELLS launched the high-output solar module 'Q.PEAK DUO G9' domestically on the 18th. The 'Q.PEAK DUO series' is a core product line that enabled Hanwha Q CELLS to achieve the number one market share in advanced energy markets such as the United States, Germany, and Japan. The newly launched 'Q.PEAK DUO G9' is the latest product in the Q.PEAK DUO series, offering more than 10% higher output compared to general solar modules (around 400 Wp) and providing up to 460 watts peak (Wp).

The new product 'Q.PEAK DUO G9' incorporates the 'Q.ANTUM DUO Z' technology. This technology combines Hanwha Q CELLS' proprietary 'Q.ANTUM' cell technology and 'half-cell' technology with the added 'Zero-Gap' technology.

General solar modules gather dozens of cells on one panel and connect them with gaps between cells to enhance physical stability. However, the 'Zero-Gap' technology removes the space between cells by cutting standard cells in half to reduce the cell surface area (half-cell) and fixing the cells with 12 wires, maintaining physical stability without gaps. Additionally, by reducing and eliminating these gaps, extra cells can be placed in the freed-up area, enabling higher output from modules of the same size.

Moreover, the 'Q.PEAK DUO G9' guarantees not only high output but also excellent power generation and quality when installed in actual field conditions. Hanwha Q CELLS solar modules minimize power loss due to shading through top and bottom separated power generation and ensure industry-leading performance with Anti-PID, Anti-LID, and Anti-LeTID technologies. They also undergo quality tests that are two to three times more stringent than international standard quality criteria.

Meanwhile, Hanwha Q CELLS has received significant recognition for its technology and quality in the global solar market. In 2018, it was the only solar module to receive the 'Intersolar Award 2018,' a prestigious honor in the solar industry, acknowledging its technological excellence and innovation. Additionally, in June last year, Hanwha Q CELLS was selected as a 'Top Performer' company for the fourth consecutive year in the '2019 PV Module Reliability Scorecard' conducted by the global certification bodies DNV GL and PVEL.
