3L 6-Cylinder Biturbo Charged Boxer Engine Equipped
0-100 km/h in 4 Seconds... Achieves Top Speed of 293 km/h
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Porsche launched four new models of the new 911 'Carrera' and 'Carrera 4' coupe and cabriolet in South Korea on the 21st. Following the launch of the Carrera S and Carrera 4S in February, the company aims to strengthen its product portfolio by introducing the new 911 entry line.
The new 911 Carrera is equipped with a 3ℓ 6-cylinder biturbo charged boxer engine, delivering a maximum output of 392 horsepower, 22 horsepower higher than the previous model. The boxer engine with a new turbocharger is combined with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) to provide powerful performance. The rear-wheel-drive Carrera coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, the cabriolet in 4.4 seconds, the all-wheel-drive Carrera 4 coupe in 4.2 seconds, and the cabriolet in 4.4 seconds. With the Sports Chrono Package option, acceleration time is reduced by an additional 0.2 seconds.
The top speed of the Carrera is 293 km/h for the coupe and 291 km/h for the cabriolet. The Carrera 4 reaches 291 km/h for the coupe and 289 km/h for the cabriolet. The combined fuel efficiency is 8.2 km/ℓ for the Carrera and 7.9 km/ℓ for the Carrera 4.
The new 911 perfectly reflects Porsche design DNA. The wheel housing arches have been widened with 20-inch front wheels and 21-inch rear wheels, and the rear end features a more pronounced slim line in the center. The bonnet between the new LED headlights is designed to evoke the original 911 generation.
For a more powerful driving experience, different mixed wheels are applied: 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear. Additionally, 330 mm brake discs equipped with black 4-piston monoblock fixed calipers provide strong braking power on both front and rear axles.
The new 911 is characterized by perfectly combining Porsche’s dynamism with innovative support systems, intelligent control, and chassis elements that align with digital trends. The new interior features a dashboard emphasizing straight lines, and the central tachometer offers expanded information through two thin, borderless display units.
Moreover, Porsche Wet mode is standard, enhancing driving stability on wet surfaces. It is also possible to directly control key vehicle functions via a compact switch unit with five buttons located below the 10.9-inch center screen.
The prices for the new Porsche 911 Carrera coupe and cabriolet are set at 142.4 million KRW and 159 million KRW, including VAT. The Carrera 4 coupe and cabriolet are priced at 151.8 million KRW and 168.3 million KRW, respectively.
