[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] Eugene Group announced on the 21st that it held a ceremony to sign an agreement with the Community Chest of Korea to provide encouragement supplies for volunteers combating the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The signing ceremony took place the previous day at the Sarangui Yeolmae Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul, attended by Kang Seongmo, Director of Eugene Group, Kim Yonghee, Secretary General of the Seoul Community Chest of Korea, and others.
Eugene Group purchased 7,520 sets of agricultural specialty products and processed foods worth 100 million KRW through the shopping mall 'Saiso' to support farms in the Gyeongbuk region, which suffered the most damage due to the high number of COVID-19 cases. The agricultural specialty products will be provided to the Korea Central Volunteer Center through the Community Chest of Korea.
The support targets volunteers who have worked in various fields responding to COVID-19, including disinfection, quarantine support in public places, counseling, support for isolated individuals, mask production, and support for the sale of public masks. Each volunteer will receive one set of agricultural specialty products.
Kang Seongmo, Director of Eugene Group, said, "We hope this support will bring comfort and strength to many people who are striving to overcome the prolonged COVID-19 situation and contribute to the spread of sharing."
