'TruSteam' Decontamination, Sterilization, and Wrinkle Reduction Effects

[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] LG Electronics announced that the sales proportion of its newly released product this year, the ‘Tromm Dryer Steam ThinQ,’ accounts for 70% of the company’s total dryer sales.
According to LG Electronics on the 21st, the share of Tromm Dryer Steam ThinQ in the total domestic sales of its dryers increased from 50% in March, the first month of release, to 65% in April, and 70% in May. LG Electronics analyzed that consumers’ heightened interest in health and hygiene led to increased sales.
The new product is equipped with the patented 100-degree Celsius 'TrueSteam,' which helps with deodorization, sterilization, and wrinkle reduction. The three specialized steam courses allow comfortable management of clothes and bedding, even when drying wet laundry.
LG Electronics explained that these courses have been verified for deodorizing performance by the Korea Apparel Testing & Research Institute, removing 99% of odors such as sweat smell embedded in fabrics.
The 'Steam Refresh Course' reduces fabric odors and light wrinkles for small amounts of clothes like shirts without separate washing. The steam option in the 'Bedding Fluffing Course' deodorizes blankets without washing and eliminates house dust mites. When steam is applied in the 'Padding Refresh Course,' it reduces odors of padding garments that are difficult to wash frequently and restores volume. According to the same research institute’s test results, it removes 99.99% of harmful bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
This product applies 4th generation dual inverter heat pump technology that dries using a 100% low-temperature dehumidification method from start to finish without the help of a heater that produces hot air. Unlike manual cleaning methods that require periodic direct cleaning, it inherits the distinctive advantages of LG Tromm dryers, such as a convenient condenser auto-cleaning system that washes itself with water every time the drying course is used.
Additionally, it can be connected via Wi-Fi to the home appliance management application ‘LG ThinQ’ to use convenient functions. The smart pairing feature of this product automatically sets the drying course by receiving washing course information from the washing machine connected to the LG ThinQ app.
LG Electronics stated, "The number of steam patents registered domestically and internationally has recently exceeded 1,000," adding, "We are applying steam technology to premium home appliances including dryers, stylers, dishwashers, and microwave ovens."
