Netflix's <i>Kingdom</i> Season 1 Submitted for International Emmy Awards

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Netflix announced on the 20th that the original series 'Kingdom' Season 1 has been submitted for the 48th International Emmy Awards in the Drama Series category for Outstanding Drama and Acting Awards.


The International Emmy Awards were established in 1973 to introduce outstanding overseas programs to American viewers. Along with Canada's Banff TV Festival and Monaco's Monte-Carlo TV Festival, it is known as one of the world's three major broadcasting awards. This year, the nominees will be announced in September, and the final winners will be selected at the awards ceremony on November 23.


'Kingdom' Season 1 is competing this year for the International Emmy Awards' Outstanding Drama Series, with Ju Ji-hoon, Ryu Seung-ryong, and Bae Doona nominated for Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively.


Among Netflix's works, last year at the International Emmy Awards, 'Rust Story' and 'Sacred Games' were nominated in the TV Mini-Series and Drama categories, respectively, and Radhika Apte from 'Rust Story' was nominated for Best Actress. 'Last Hangover' won the Outstanding Comedy Series award.
