[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Young-wook] The Gumi City Scholarship Foundation in Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 19th that it awarded scholarship certificates to six representatives selected by category among 141 students chosen as scholarship recipients in 2020 at the City Hall International Trade Cooperation Office.
The foundation accepted scholarship applications from high school and university students in the area from the 6th to the 17th of last month. At that time, 210 applicants applied, showing an average competition rate of 2.3 to 1.
The selected students include 36 outstanding high school entrants (each receiving 1 million KRW), 35 outstanding university entrants (each up to 3 million KRW), 52 university academic excellence recipients (each up to 2 million KRW), 10 university equal opportunity recipients (each 2 million KRW), 4 university arts and physical education special talent recipients (each 2 million KRW), and 4 high school special talent recipients (each 1 million KRW). The total scholarship amount awarded to them was 236.9 million KRW.
Jang Se-yong, chairman of the Gumi City Scholarship Foundation, said in his greeting, "You, who are the pride and hope of Gumi, should study diligently with pride and grow into outstanding talents to brighten Gumi."
