[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kang Sharon] Education superintendents of cities and counties in Gyeongsangnam-do have agreed to participate in the government’s emergency disaster relief fund donation to overcome the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and to take the lead in spreading a culture of donation in the education sector.

The Council of Education Superintendents of 18 cities and counties in Gyeongnam resolved at the regular meeting held on the 19th at Sacheon Office of Education to share the pain with neighbors suffering from COVID-19 through donations of the emergency disaster relief fund and to actively participate in the national policy that is making every effort to stabilize citizens’ lives and support economic recovery.

To this end, the superintendents decided to take the lead in spreading a culture of donation in the local education sector for the stabilization of citizens’ lives, economic recovery, and management stability of small business owners, and to carry out practical activities tailored to the circumstances of each local education office.

Chairman Jeong Wooseok of the council emphasized, “We hope that the education superintendents’ donation activities to overcome COVID-19 will serve as a catalyst for the recovery of the local economy,” and added, “The local education sector will take the lead in accelerating the overcoming of this national crisis.”
