Promise to Build a Strong Partnership at Nam-gu Office Policy Meeting
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Yoon Young-deok, the elected member of the National Assembly for Dongnam-gap, Gwangju Metropolitan City, and Lee Byung-hoon, the elected member for Dongnam-eul, agreed on the 19th at a policy meeting held at Nam-gu Office to establish a solid cooperative relationship to ensure the smooth promotion of regional development and various pending issues and policy projects in Nam-gu.
On the same day, the two elected members heard explanations from Kim Byung-nae, the head of Nam-gu Office, regarding six pending projects including the Energy Valley development project and the Songam Industrial Complex economic base-type urban regeneration project, as well as proposed policy projects such as attracting a CT research institute and public institutions located in the Seoul metropolitan area, and then expressed this position.
In addition, they pledged to make every effort to promote the remarkable development of Nam-gu, improve the quality of life of local residents through active activities in the National Assembly, revitalize the stagnant local economy, and discover various national policy projects that contribute to the development of Nam-gu.
Since a strong consensus was formed regarding information sharing on local issues and the necessity of projects, this declaration can be seen as a commitment to act as a bridge connecting the region and the government and as a strong supporter overseeing pending projects in the upcoming 21st National Assembly.
Yoon Young-deok, the elected member for Dongnam-gap, said, “I hope such opportunities to nurture and develop Nam-gu will be held frequently,” adding, “I will contribute to the development of Nam-gu through institutional efforts and budget securing activities in the National Assembly.”
Lee Byung-hoon, the elected member for Dongnam-eul, stated, “Dongnam-gap and Dongnam-eul are one when it comes to budget and civil complaints,” and added, “I will strive for balanced development of not only Gwangju but the entire Nam-gu through the success of the national industrial complex under construction in Nam-gu, the revitalization of local industrial complexes, and urban regeneration projects in the old downtown area.”
Kim Byung-nae, the head of Nam-gu Office, said, “I sincerely thank the two elected members of the National Assembly who will be active in the 21st National Assembly for pledging to support Nam-gu’s administration for regional development,” and added, “I hope you will achieve great success on the central political stage to accomplish the great goal of regional development.”
