[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ki-woon] On the 19th, Jeonnam Sinan-gun (Governor Park Woo-ryang) announced that on the 18th, it signed a business agreement with KT Jeonnam-Jeonbuk Regional Headquarters to prepare for the ICT and the 4th Industrial Revolution era and to lead the cultural city and smart tourism city.


About 30 people attended the signing ceremony, including Governor Park Woo-ryang, KT Corporation's Yoo Yong-gyu, Head of Jeonnam-Jeonbuk Corporate Customer Headquarters, Lim Kyung-jun, Jeonnam Corporate Customer Manager, Lee Jae-cheol, Head of Jeonnam-Jeonbuk Wireless Operation Center, and Heo Yong-dam, Head of Mokpo Corporate Branch.


They agreed to cooperate in improving mobile phone quality in island areas by additionally increasing base stations, expanding internet TV infrastructure, and discovering big data and AI solutions to revitalize the 1004 Islands region.


In addition, they promised to conduct joint research to lead Sinan as a cultural city and smart tourism city, improve residents' lives based on ICT solutions, and provide various communication services.


Governor Park Woo-ryang said, “Once the expansion of wired and wireless communication networks in island areas is completed, not only will the perceived quality improvement felt by residents be enhanced, but the safety and convenience of fishermen working in distant seas will also be improved. Especially, tourists will be able to enjoy a more pleasant trip by accessing various information about tourist sites through high-quality, uninterrupted LTE service.”


Yoo Yong-gyu, Head of KT Jeonnam-Jeonbuk Regional Headquarters, said, “We will do our best to improve the quality of life for island village residents by providing opportunities to use beneficial and convenient services through continuous communication infrastructure construction and quality improvement in island areas. We will also provide big data tourism solution and smart future business information education to Sinan-gun public officials.”
