[Asia Economy (Pyeongtaek) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority has launched a Gender Equality Committee.
On the 19th, Pyeongtaek Port Authority announced that it appointed three female human rights experts as external members at the Pyeongtaek Port Marine Center and inaugurated the Gender Equality Committee.
Earlier in March, Pyeongtaek Port Authority established regulations for the installation and operation of the Gender Equality Committee to create a leading gender-equal organizational culture, laying a concrete foundation for institutional improvements that ensure equal treatment and opportunities for both genders by deliberating and coordinating key matters related to gender equality policies.
Starting with the launch of the committee, Pyeongtaek Port Authority plans to set gender equality indicators in three management areas: female representation, human resource management, and human resource development, aiming to complete these initiatives within the year to promote awareness of gender equality and foster an organizational culture.
Moon Hak-jin, President of Pyeongtaek Port Authority, emphasized, "With the launch of this Gender Equality Committee, we will proactively address issues hindering gender equality within the organization and spread an organizational culture where both genders receive equal and fair treatment and opportunities."
