[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] The Busan Gijang-gun Seaweed Breeding Convergence Research Center (hereinafter referred to as the 'Research Center') announced on the 19th that it will resume the seaweed experience education program "Living in the Sea Village 2020," which had been temporarily suspended due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), starting in June.

"Living in the Sea Village 2020" is a science and art convergence experience program designed to evoke dreams and emotions by connecting with the sea (seaweed). This is its second year. With differentiated monthly themes, children directly create seaweed-decorated pouches, underwater landscape frames, and anchovy cloisonn? crafts, building familiarity with the sea, acquiring knowledge about seaweed, and enhancing creativity.

The program is promoted in connection with the "Creating Coexistence of Sea and Art in Gijang" agreement signed between the 'Research Center' and the artist group 'Gijang Craftsmen Association.'

The experience program will be expanded and implemented from June to December, operating two classes per day every Saturday for elementary school students and their parents, with a capacity of 15 participants per class and a participation fee of 5,000 won per person.

A Research Center official stated, "Through the resumption of the experience program, we hope to provide a much-needed cultural experience space and offer time to learn about and become familiar with the sea (seaweed)." He added, "We will strive to provide more diverse and beneficial programs in the future."
