[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Four more confirmed cases related to an Incheon academy instructor who contracted COVID-19 after visiting a club in Itaewon, Seoul, have been reported.
On the 19th, Incheon City announced that four people tested positive for COVID-19: two residents of Michuhol-gu, including A (17), and two residents of Yeonsu-gu, including B (63).
Among them, two individuals including A were infected at a karaoke room on the second floor of Vision Plaza in Yonghyeon-dong, Michuhol-gu, which was visited by two male high school students who were infected by the confirmed academy instructor C (25).
Additionally, the two residents of Yeonsu-gu, including B, were confirmed to be other passengers who used the taxi that C had taken, all of whom are Chinese nationals.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases related to C to 21, including 11 students and 10 adults. Incheon City has secured a list of 143 passengers who used the taxi taken by academy instructor C and paid the fare by card, and is currently conducting specimen tests.
Furthermore, based on the taxi taximeter (operation recording device) information, the taxi's travel route was confirmed and notifications were sent via safety messages, allowing cash-paying passengers to voluntarily undergo specimen testing.
Meanwhile, C, who was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on the 9th, was reported to Incheon City for violating the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act after hiding his occupation and providing false statements about his movements during the initial epidemiological investigation.
