[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Hampyeong Fire Station (Chief Im Donghyun) announced on the 19th that it has strengthened fire safety management for foreign workers' residential facilities in industrial and agricultural complexes in the region.
This is to create a safe environment for the residential facilities and workplaces of foreign workers following a fire accident in January at a foreign worker dormitory in Haenam-gun, Jeonnam, which resulted in the deaths of three workers.
For 12 companies in industrial and agricultural complexes, efforts are being made to prevent fires by distributing fire facility usage guidebooks in six foreign languages, attaching stickers on how to use fire facilities, providing guidance on installing residential fire facilities in foreign workers' housing, and distributing home safety inspection checklists.
Chief Im Donghyun said, “We ask for the interest and cooperation of business owners to create a safe environment for foreign workers who are vulnerable to fire.”
