[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will partially reopen 13 public libraries and 123 small libraries that had been closed starting from the 20th.
Seongnam City announced on the 19th that from that day, visitors can visit the library reading rooms to borrow and return books.
However, reading rooms and cafeterias will not be available for use.
Activities such as reading inside the reading rooms are also prohibited.
When entering the library, users must present identification, undergo a check for overseas travel history within the last 14 days, and have their temperature taken.
Additionally, masks and entry passes must be worn. Those not wearing them will be asked to leave.
With the resumption of book borrowing and returning in the reading rooms, the drive-through and walk-through pre-reservation book lending service at public libraries, which had been temporarily operated since the 16th of last month, has ended today except at Jungwon Library.
Meanwhile, during the 32-day drive-through and walk-through service period, the city reported that 32,256 citizens borrowed a total of 123,340 books.
