'Thanks to All Jungnang-gu Residents!'...Jungnang-gu Hosts 'COVID-19 Living Memory Space'

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] ‘Thanks to all the residents of Jungnang-gu!’

Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) expresses gratitude to its residents for their response to COVID-19. The district announced that starting from the 21st until the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, it will hold an exhibition called the ‘COVID-19 Vivid Memory Space’ near the No. 1 Yeonyukgyo Bridge at Junghwa 2-dong Sports Park.

The COVID-19 Vivid Memory Space is an exhibition utilizing banners that were posted throughout Jungnang-gu to provide COVID-19 response information. It was prepared to thank residents who actively participated in daily quarantine efforts to overcome COVID-19 and to raise awareness about the ongoing pandemic.

The banners to be exhibited include a total of 76 banners of 14 different types that have been posted around the area since last February to provide COVID-19 response information.

The main contents include the COVID-19 prevention action slogan ‘Wash, Cover, Contact’ created by the district, early eradication of COVID-19, requests for public-private cooperation and messages of gratitude, information on the distribution of national safety (cotton) masks, and social distancing campaigns.

In addition, a response log and photos documenting the progress since the outbreak of COVID-19, as well as supportive phrases such as ‘Thanks to You’ and ‘Goodbye COVID-19,’ will be displayed to provide a variety of attractions.

In particular, Junghwa 2-dong Sports Park, the venue for the event, is where the Seoul Rose Festival has been held annually. It is expected to soothe residents’ disappointment over the festival’s cancellation and boost pride with messages of encouragement.

Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “This exhibition was prepared to convey support and gratitude to the residents who have worked together to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” adding, “It must be tiring and difficult, but I ask everyone to keep up their strength until we can completely say goodbye to COVID-19.”
