Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju to Deliver 'Nongsanmul Packages' Using School Meal Funds

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Samho) announced on the 18th that it will deliver agricultural product family packages until the end of this month to help school meal farms struggling due to the spread of COVID-19 and delayed school attendance, and to reduce the economic burden on parents.

The necessary budget will be covered by the 'school meal expenses.'

This agricultural product family package contains about 30,000 won worth of eco-friendly agricultural products such as rice, brown rice, fertilized eggs, shiitake mushrooms, and fruits and vegetables.

The Gwangsan-gu School Meal Support Center has been sequentially delivering agricultural product family packages to the homes of 123,587 students from 364 kindergartens, elementary, middle, high, and special schools in Gwangsan-gu and Buk-gu since the 14th.

Kim Samho, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, said, "We hope this will be of some help to the producing farms and student families suffering from the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic."
