[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seong Jang-hyun, the mayor of Yongsan-gu, performed the 'Thanks Challenge' with senior district officials in the mayor's office on the 18th.

The Thanks Challenge is a nationwide participatory campaign where people post photos or videos of sign language expressing respect and pride to encourage medical staff dedicated to overcoming COVID-19, and then nominate the next participants.

Mayor Seong posted the photo on his Facebook that day and wrote, "I thank all the medical staff who have been fighting COVID-19 for a long time," adding, "Let us all unite our strength to overcome this crisis well."

He nominated Noh Hyun-song, mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seo Yoo-sung, director of Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital, and Oh Si-nan, head of the Yongsan Foreign Supporters as the next participants.
