Kensington Resort Seorak Beach Opens Ocean View Cafe and Cocomon Kids Cafe Room

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] Kensington Resort Seorak Beach announced on the 18th that it has opened the ‘Beach Cafe Room’ with a private ocean view cafe concept and the ‘Cocomong Kids Cafe Room’ decorated with the theme of ‘Underwater Explorer with Cocomong.’

Based on big data analysis centered on travel trends and surveys of over 1,000 customers, travel trends in the Gangwon-do region were identified as ‘ocean view cafes,’ ‘mukbang,’ and ‘sea travel.’ Reflecting this, Kensington Resort Seorak Beach has fully renovated all ocean view rooms on the 5th floor of the resort and introduced customized rooms for customers.

The renovated rooms feature spacious 20 to 30-pyeong (approximately 66 to 99 square meters) ocean view rooms on the 5th floor, designed to offer experiences of both an ‘ocean view cafe’ and a ‘kids cafe.’ The Beach Cafe Room comes in two types: the ‘Luxury Marine’ room, a modern classic style harmonizing white and gray colors, and the ‘Natural Marine’ room, which highlights a natural feel with white and wood-tone colors.

Taking advantage of the ocean view in every room, all windows are designed as large panoramic windows to provide a wide view of the sea from the room. A long bench-style chair is installed by the window to create a photo zone. Instead of sofas and televisions, bar tables are installed, and Nespresso coffee machines with four capsules, one bottle of wine, and other amenities are provided to complete a private ocean view cafe experience.

The Cocomong Kids Cafe Room features various characters from the popular animation Cocomong engaging in underwater exploration, cruise trips, space travel, and more. The rooms are themed as ‘Underwater Explorer’ with the familiar character Cocomong, ‘Marine Cruise Traveler,’ and ‘Space Explorer.’ The living room offers a large mat block for stacking and a physical play mat for puzzles. Additionally, a ball pool and slide are provided to support active physical play for children.

Lee Kyung-min, General Manager of Kensington Resort Seorak Beach, said, “We have introduced concept rooms reflecting insights gained from big data analysis and customer surveys conducted from 2017 to May 2019 to satisfy diverse customer needs and trends.” He added, “With the spread of untact culture, we hope guests can enjoy unique experiences and true healing even within the resort.”

To commemorate the opening of the ‘Beach Cafe Room’ and ‘Cocomong Kids Cafe Room,’ Kensington Resort Seorak Beach is offering the ‘Cafe in the Room Package’ and ‘Hello Cocomong Package’ until July 16. The Cafe in the Room Package includes △1 night in the Beach Cafe Room, △breakfast for two at Ashley Queens, △two cans of Kensington Beer, △seawater sauna for two, △coffee bean bread, and △free minibar. The Hello Cocomong Package includes △1 night in the Cocomong Kids Cafe Room, △breakfast for three at Ashley Queens (2 adults, 1 child), △Kenny Mong, and △a set of four Cocomong toys.
