[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Min Jun-young] Singer Sung Si-kyung revealed that after a period of abstaining from alcohol for dieting, he experienced an 'alcohol yo-yo' effect upon resuming drinking.
On the 18th, Sung Si-kyung appeared on SBS PowerFM's "Kim Young-chul's PowerFM" (Cheolpaem) and shared various stories.
During the radio show, host Kim Young-chul asked Sung Si-kyung, "You are doing the personal documentary program 'On and Off.' In the last episode, you were hit 100 times on the face with acupuncture needles, and it seems like you have been taking great care of yourself lately."
To this, Sung Si-kyung replied, "It's not that I'm paying a lot of attention; it's just one of the things I started doing as I got older," adding, "That was shown on the broadcast."
He also spoke about successfully dieting by abstaining from alcohol for 48 days, saying, "I abstained from drinking until my birthday on April 17, and then I started drinking again for about a month. Recently, there was an article saying I experienced a yo-yo effect, but it's not just any yo-yo?it's an alcohol yo-yo. I haven't gained much weight. Rather, when I drink, I lose weight but my body shape seems to worsen."
