[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] Model Han Hyun-min opened up about a painful experience from his childhood.
On the 15th, model Han Hyun-min appeared on KBS's "TV Carries Love".
During the broadcast, in response to Kim Yong-man's question, "Do you have any upsetting memories from your childhood?" he began, "When I was in kindergarten playing with friends, their parents would come and say, 'Don't play with this kid,' and take them away."
He continued, "Once, I went to a convenience store with a friend, and my friend stole bread. But the store owner accused me of being the culprit," explaining, "Such misunderstandings happened often."
Han Hyun-min said, "My mother was very upset," adding, "The reason we settled in Itaewon was because there are relatively more foreigners compared to other places. I think it was because she wanted us to have an easier time."
That day, Han Hyun-min said, "I was stressed a lot as a child because of my distinctive appearance, but now I use it as an advantage and work as a multicultural model," and added, "I came to find the teacher who helped me become who I am today."
At the end of the broadcast, teacher Lee Young-hee, who met Han Hyun-min, recalled, "Hyun-min was very special. Even 10 years ago, there was prejudice against multicultural families. He stood out visually, and at that time, he was a child who needed warm attention," and said, "I often thought about how I could embrace Hyun-min in my arms."
