[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) established the "Flood and Wind Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (hereinafter referred to as the Headquarters)" at 5 p.m. on the 14th to ensure the safe summer of residents and announced its full-scale operation.
On this day, after holding a plaque ceremony, the Headquarters conducted a final inspection of disaster situations in preparation for summer flood and wind disasters, including the status of disaster prevention facilities, securing flood control materials, and flood-prone areas.
The district formed 13 task forces with Mayor Noh Hyun-song as the head from the 15th of this month to October 15th, and entered a 24-hour emergency duty system in stages of interest, caution, alert, and severe according to weather forecasts.
To minimize damage through prompt response in case of summer disaster damage, an organic cooperation system with related organizations was also established.
In addition, a joint civil-government emergency response mobile team is operated, and 486 care officials were assigned to 971 households at risk of flooding to ensure focused management.
Mayor Noh Hyun-song emphasized, "Thorough preparation and prevention before natural disasters occur in summer are important," and urged, "Care officials for flood-prone households should listen to residents' difficulties according to weather warnings and carefully attend to even the smallest matters."
