Samsung Card Enables 24-Hour Consultation with Dedicated Line
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] From the 15th, it will be possible to apply for the Emergency Disaster Relief Fund through credit card company call centers and the Automated Response System (ARS).
According to the industry on the 14th, in accordance with government guidelines, each credit card company is preparing related systems to accept applications for the Emergency Disaster Relief Fund via call centers and ARS starting from the 15th.
Samsung Card will accept applications for the Disaster Relief Fund through call centers and ARS from 12:30 AM on the 15th. In particular, Samsung Card has set up a dedicated phone number for Emergency Disaster Relief Fund applications, and both connecting to a counselor and ARS are available 24 hours a day.
Shinhan, KB Kookmin, Hyundai, Lotte, BC, and Hana Card will also allow applications for the Disaster Relief Fund via ARS from 12:30 AM on the 15th. Call centers will accept applications during counselor working hours from 9 AM to 6 PM. However, like Samsung Card, Shinhan Card and Hana Card allow 24-hour fund applications through their call centers. KB Kookmin Card and Lotte Card accept reservation applications from customers who inquire outside call center operating hours and call the customers the next day.
This measure appears to have been taken in response to criticism that elderly people and others cannot apply for the Disaster Relief Fund through credit card company websites or mobile applications (apps). However, from 11:30 PM to 12:30 AM, ARS use is restricted due to a common system maintenance time for all credit card companies.
