[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Amid controversy over Min Kyung-wook, a member of the United Future Party, raising suspicions of manipulation in the April 15 general election's early voting and revealing lost ballots, Lee Jun-seok, the party's Supreme Council member, said on the 14th, "The party leadership has concluded that there is no basis for these claims."

Lee, on the morning of the same day through MBC Radio's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus,' stated, "In the case of Representative Min, it appears he is independently raising his suspicions along with YouTube channels, unrelated to the party. While this is a judgment he can make as an individual, the party has no intention to support or sympathize with it."

He defined Min's claim of early voting manipulation as "a conspiracy theory that makes no sense from start to finish," pointing out, "He claims early voting was manipulated but uses the main voting ballots as evidence."

He continued, "After bringing the ballots and making unreasonable moves, now the situation has come where he must explain to investigative agencies (how he obtained the ballots)," adding, "If it turns out that an observer from any party leaked them or they were leaked before the election, Representative Min will be caught in a very big whirlpool."

Furthermore, Lee questioned, "In Representative Min's previous PPT, the existence of a Wi-Fi function on a laptop with communication capability was presented as evidence of manipulation. Where is a laptop without Wi-Fi?" He criticized, "So, does having a laptop mean everything is manipulated? This is not the behavior we expect from intellectuals as we know them."

He also said, "Since this concerns the dignity of conservatism, I tried to resolve it by talking with Representative Min and called him many times at the end of last month," but "his phone was off and he did not answer."

Earlier, on the 11th, Representative Min revealed early voting ballots, claiming they were "evidence supporting the assertion that this general election was fraudulent."

He claimed, "A large number of proportional representation ballots without the election manager's seal and unmarked were found," and "There is a possibility of mass mixed ballots in this general election. An investigation into this should be conducted." However, contrary to Min's claim, the ballots in question were reported to be main voting ballots, not early voting ballots.

Regarding this, the Central Election Management Committee (Election Commission) stated, "Upon verification, six ballots were lost from the remaining ballots in the 2nd voting district of Sutaek 2-dong, Guri City, and the serial numbers of the lost ballots match those of the ballots presented on site." The Election Commission has requested an investigation from the Supreme Prosecutors' Office.
