[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Gominhyeong] Jeonbuk Province held a meeting on the 14th, chaired by Woo Beom-gi, Deputy Governor for Political Affairs, with companies that signed contracts to move into the Saemangeum Industrial Complex, urging them to proceed with their investments without setbacks.


The meeting, held at the Jeonbuk Provincial Government's comprehensive situation room, was attended by related organizations including Jeonbuk Province and the Saemangeum Development Agency, as well as 10 companies that signed contracts to move into the Saemangeum Industrial Complex, such as Genome & Natural Bio Co., Ltd., where they exchanged various opinions regarding the progress of investments in the Saemangeum Industrial Complex.


The meeting was organized to check whether there were any difficulties in proceeding with investments in the Saemangeum Industrial Complex amid the investment sentiment contraction caused by COVID-19 and other factors, and to gather diverse opinions from company representatives in advance to assist their move into the Saemangeum Industrial Complex.


The attending businesspeople actively exchanged opinions on the investment progress trends in the Saemangeum Industrial Complex and the management difficulties they experienced during the investment process, and also requested more attention and support from administrative agencies including Jeonbuk Province.


Based on the opinions discussed at the meeting, Jeonbuk Province plans to actively cooperate with related organizations such as the Saemangeum Development Agency, Gunsan City, and the Korea Rural Community Corporation to support the smooth commencement of construction for companies that signed contracts to move into the Saemangeum Industrial Complex.


Furthermore, Jeonbuk Province will continue to strengthen communication with investment companies in the Saemangeum Industrial Complex through visits to resident companies and regular meetings.


Woo Beom-gi, Deputy Governor for Political Affairs of Jeonbuk Province, expressed gratitude to the businesspeople who decided to invest in Saemangeum despite various difficult conditions, and said, “We will spare no administrative and policy support so that companies residing in the Saemangeum Industrial Complex can focus on their business activities without major inconveniences,” adding, “We ask companies to proceed with their investments as planned without setbacks to create good jobs and establish an opportunity for mutual growth between companies and Jeonbuk Province.”
