[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Bolbbalgan4's Ahn Ji-young recently addressed rumors of discord with former member Woo Ji-yoon, who recently left the group.
On the 13th, MBC variety show 'Radio Star' aired a special episode titled 'No Work,' featuring former Go player Lee Sedol, Oh My Girl's Hyojung, comedian Lee Guk-joo, and Bolbbalgan4's Ahn Ji-young as guests.
That day, Ahn Ji-young mentioned Woo Ji-yoon, who recently left Bolbbalgan4. Ahn said, "I have talked about Woo Ji-yoon before. We have been together for four years since debut and have known each other for 10 years since high school."
She added, "(Woo Ji-yoon) worked hard for four years and often said she wanted to take a break. She is a friend who likes challenges, so I support her as a friend. I believe we will be able to make music together someday."
Then, Ahn Ji-young expressed frustration over the rumors of discord with Woo Ji-yoon raised by some. She said, "Rumors circulated. We have known each other for 10 years, but (people) don't really know us, do they?" She continued, "We are making good choices, but it was upsetting to be made out as pitiful people."
She also denied the speculations surrounding Woo Ji-yoon's departure, saying, "There are some misunderstandings," and rejecting claims such as "because she didn't get the spotlight," "because of a bad relationship," or "because of unfair treatment."
Ahn Ji-young also opened up about rumors of her being a music royalty tycoon. She said, "People think I must own many buildings or shops, but I only have a car. During my indie days, I only earned a few hundred won. Now, I earn a bit more."
