[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Yangsan Busan National University Hospital announced on the 13th that Ryu Ji-ho, director of the Regional Emergency Medical Center, received the 'Life Sharing Merit Award' from the Korea Organ and Tissue Donation Agency for the organ and tissue donation activation program.
This award was established by the Korea Organ and Tissue Donation Agency to honor the efforts of medical staff who have greatly contributed to the activation of organ donation and to raise the value of life sharing.
Director Ryu was honored for his achievements, including achieving a 100% notification rate of suspected brain death cases and establishing a system to notify all suspected brain-dead patients in the emergency room.
Yangsan Busan National University Hospital, which opened in 2008, performs high-difficulty multi-organ transplant surgeries and provides intensive care for critically ill patients, having achieved 50 lung transplants in the shortest period, 50 pancreas transplants in the shortest period, and 300 liver transplants in the shortest period.
