[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Min Jun-young] The identity of 'GodGod,' the operator of the Telegram chatroom 'n-bunbang' that shared sexually exploitative materials, has been revealed as Moon Hyung-wook, born in 1995 and a senior university student. The police plan to disclose Moon Hyung-wook's face when he is sent to the prosecution on the 18th.

The Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency announced on the 13th that they decided to disclose Moon Hyung-wook's personal information in accordance with Article 25 (Disclosure of the Suspect's Face) of the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes.

On the same day, the police held a personal information disclosure review committee composed of three police officers, lawyers, university professors, and seven internal and external members, and made this decision.

The personal information disclosure committee explained that they thoroughly reviewed the reasons for restricting disclosure, such as the suspect's human rights and secondary damage that the suspect's family and acquaintances might suffer due to the disclosure of the suspect's identity.

Moon Hyung-wook's face is scheduled to be disclosed without being covered by a mask or other means when he is sent to the prosecution at Andong Police Station on the 18th.

The Gyeongbuk Police stated that the suspect's crime method was malicious and repetitive, as he referred to unspecified many women as slaves and produced and distributed sexually exploitative videos, explaining the reason for disclosure.

Moon Hyung-wook is suspected of opening eight sexually exploitative chatrooms on Telegram since February last year, operating under the chat name 'GodGod,' creating the 'n-bunbang' on Telegram, and producing and distributing sexually exploitative materials involving minors.

These chatrooms were numbered from 1 to 8 and were collectively called 'n-bunbang.'

The n-bunbang is known as the precursor to sexually exploitative material sharing chatrooms such as 'Doctor's Room,' operated by Jo Joo-bin (24).

Moon Hyung-wook is the fourth suspect whose identity has been disclosed under the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes.

Previously, the police disclosed the identities of Jo Joo-bin (24), the operator of 'Doctor's Room,' and his accomplices Kang Hoon (18), known as 'Buda,' and Lee Won-ho (19), known as 'Igya,' under the same law.
