[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Homeplus will hold a discount sale on various food items and daily necessities from the 14th to the 27th to stimulate domestic consumption, which has been sluggish due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and to stabilize grocery prices.
First, ingredients for Dakgalbi that can be easily enjoyed have been gathered. Until the 20th, My Homeplus Membership members can purchase branded chicken (domestic) at a discount of up to 3,000 KRW. In addition, Sampo Chuncheon Dakgalbi, Ottogi ramen noodles, various vegetables, and beer will be offered at affordable prices.
Also, until the 20th, when paying with event cards, a variety of fruits that can be enjoyed as desserts, such as sugar-selected watermelon and U.S.-grown cherry packs, have been prepared. Snacks are also available, with about 300 types of confectionery, beverages, and processed foods sold at a uniform price of 1,000 KRW.
For consumers planning outdoor activities, products such as selfie sticks and portable batteries will be sold at discounted prices. In response to the early heat, various fans have been prepared: the ‘Lumena Mini Stand Fan’ is available for 29,900 KRW, the ‘Wingstorm Neckband Portable Dual Fan’ for 26,900 KRW, and the ‘Actto Mignon Handy Fan’ for 9,900 KRW.
Reasonable shopping opportunities are also provided for consumers planning camping. The Kovea sunshade (for 3-4 people) and one-touch tent (for 2-3 people) are priced at 29,900 KRW and 69,900 KRW respectively; four types of camping chairs (armchair/relax chair/flat chair/vivid chair) range from 24,000 KRW to 69,900 KRW; and the auto cabinet is sold for 69,900 KRW.
Along with this, three types of Homeplus Signature sleeping bags (knapsack/basic/mummy) are offered from 19,900 KRW to 39,900 KRW; six types each of camping mats and picnic mats range from 2,000 KRW to 25,900 KRW; and cooler bags are available for 19,000 KRW. The Visca single-burner induction cooker, usable both indoors and outdoors, is priced at 39,900 KRW, and the Armor Cook frying pan and Korean-style pan are each sold for 4,990 KRW.
Additionally, until the 17th, ‘Mallbang Day’ will be held at a total of 32 stores including Yeongdeungpo, Geumcheon, Gangdong, and Ganseok branches, offering brand products in fashion, semi-jewelry, shoes, living, and furniture at discounts of up to 50%. Customers who purchase event products worth 30,000 KRW or more will receive a ‘Lucky Thank You Envelope,’ and those who purchase 130,000 KRW or more will be given a 30-roll pack of toilet paper on a first-come, first-served basis. For My Homeplus Membership members, an immediate discount of 5,000 KRW is provided when paying 80,000 KRW or more on a single brand product with an event card*.
