On the 11th, Director Lee announced that all 681 employees tested negative for COVID-19 following the examination.
Director Lee said, "I sincerely apologize for causing concern to citizens due to inappropriate behavior as a medical professional during this critical time of infectious disease," and promised, "I will do my best to ensure patient safety and fulfill the role of a public medical institution more faithfully."
He further added, "Along with treating COVID-19 patients, we will do our utmost to prevent any medical service gaps for Seongnam citizens," and stated, "We will accelerate the normal operation of the medical center and create a Seongnam Medical Center where people can visit with confidence through thorough quarantine measures."
Earlier, after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19 on the 8th, Seongnam City Medical Center immediately conducted a full investigation of 681 medical center employees, including contracted and dispatched workers. Subsequently, all 681 individuals, including 124 classified as close contacts and currently in self-quarantine, tested negative.
