Standard Graphene, World's First Graphene Water Treatment Technology Certified by WHO

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Standard Graphene has become the first company in the global graphene industry to receive official certification for water treatment technology from the World Health Organization (WHO). With increased trust in the water treatment technology applying graphene, overseas expansion of the water treatment business division is expected to accelerate.

ENPlus announced on the 11th that Standard Graphene is the first among global graphene companies to obtain NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) certification. NSF is an officially designated water purification and drinking water certification body by the WHO. It is known as a world-class certification institution related to water treatment.

Standard Graphene succeeded in obtaining certification by applying Super Graphite, a new material exclusively for water treatment developed with graphene technology. It acquired two certifications: NSF 42 (Drinking Water Treatment Units - Aesthetic Effects) and NSF 61 (Drinking Water System Components - Health Effects). NSF 42 certification requires proof that the material is harmless when used in household water purifiers. NSF 61 requires proof that the material is safe when used in water treatment facilities such as water purification plants. Since NSF 61 is based on large-scale water treatment, its passing criteria are strict.

Kim Sang-ho, team leader in charge of Standard Graphene’s water treatment business, introduced, "Since we have obtained internationally recognized top-level certification, it will greatly help Standard Graphene’s domestic and overseas water treatment projects," and added, "Super Graphite is a material with superior efficiency and economic feasibility compared to existing water treatment materials."

He also predicted, "Because we received global certification, many ongoing water treatment projects will proceed in earnest."

Standard Graphene is a manufacturer of high-quality powder-type graphene. Regarding water treatment, it was the first in the industry to succeed in commercializing water treatment.
