SMotors Co., Ltd. announced on the 8th that it will embark on the production and development of futuristic electric vehicles.
They stated that the next-generation platform features a body manufactured using 3D printing technology, boasting ultra-lightweight, cost-effective, and stable electric vehicles aimed at small-batch, multi-model production.
The 3D printed body reduces vehicle weight, improving driving range by approximately 20%. It also allows production tailored to the specific needs of B2G, B2B, and B2C customers. Another key advantage is the ability to develop customized vehicles simply by inputting data. The vehicles can be optionally equipped with features such as air conditioning and heaters.
SMotors Co., Ltd. is a Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport certified automobile manufacturer, having introduced top-class premium vans using the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. They also produce mid-sized buses and low-floor buses for people with disabilities.
In addition, as part of a collaboration with domestic automakers, they are working with Hyundai Solati. SMotors’ self-developed non-exposed automatic sliding door passed durability testing at Hyundai Research Institute in November 2019, leading to a formal agreement in March 2020 to apply it to all Solati models, with full-scale commercialization underway. Hyundai also plans to equip SMotors’ auto sliding doors on Solati vehicles exported to Vietnam in the future.
SMotors Co., Ltd. also announced that it possesses full air suspension technology and developed an optimized four-wheel drive (4X4) system for van vehicles, which has been installed on 200 ambulances exported to Iraq.
A representative from SMotors stated, “We aspire to become the number one electric vehicle manufacturer in the domestic market,” and announced that small-scale public subscription for shares will begin on May 25 through Ebest Investment & Securities Co., Ltd.
Based on this, they are preparing to enter the KOSDAQ market in the second half of 2021 through a SPAC merger.
At last year’s 2019 Bus-World event, the quality, design, and completeness of their vehicles were once again validated. At the event held in Belgium, SMotors received industry acclaim and secured export channels for limousine kits with numerous European protocol companies.
