Support for Overcoming COVID-19: Joint Sales Event and Activation of Nadeulgage PB Products
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) is promoting the Nadeul Store support project from this month until December to revitalize the depressed neighborhood commercial districts due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
'Nadeul Store' is a support policy fostered by local governments to help neighborhood supermarkets, which are facing economic difficulties due to the increase of corporate supermarkets, to sustain themselves. Currently, 38 stores are operating within the region.
Since being selected in 2017 for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'Nadeul Store Fostering Leading Area Support Project,' the district has been carrying out the project for four years this year, achieving results such as an average 6% sales increase in Nadeul Stores equipped with sales inquiry programs, a 15% average sales increase in Nadeul Stores supported with model shops and management improvements, and generating a monthly net profit of 2 million KRW through the development of the Dongne Myeongjak brand by the Dongjak Nadeul Store Cooperative.
Especially this year, the project will improve sales (profits) by enhancing price competitiveness through joint purchasing and will promote the activation of Nadeul Store PB (private brand) products.
First, during five days until next month, a 'Cheer Up Korea' Nadeul Store joint sale event will be held to overcome the COVID-19 economic crisis.
Thirty-eight Nadeul Stores in the area will participate, selling top-selling and seasonal products to residents at affordable prices. Additional sales of specialized items tailored to store characteristics and giveaways for purchasing customers are also planned.
Also, from September to November, the project will promote the 'Activation of Nadeul Store PB Products.'
Support will be provided to the Dongjak Nadeul Store Cooperative for the production of printing plates to create packaging bags for Dongne Myeongjak rice (10kg), as well as for packaging bag production costs for Dongne Myeongjak products such as rice, nuts, and dried seafood.

Kim Jungwon, head of the Economic Promotion Division, said, "Through the fourth year of the 'Nadeul Store' fostering support project, we will do our best to revitalize the local economy depressed by COVID-19," and added, "We ask for the residents' great interest and use."
