According to Bodyfriend (CEO Park Sang-hyun), a total of 5,153 massage chairs were rented and sold over six days from April 30 to May 5. Sales increased by 46% compared to the same period last year.


A Bodyfriend representative stated, "As the spread of the coronavirus slowed down, consumers engaged in so-called 'compensatory consumption,' and with a surge in interest in immunity and health, there was a significant increase in visitors looking to purchase massage chairs as gifts for Parents' Day. Being the only company in the industry with a Medical R&D Center that directly researches and develops massage chairs and verifies the medical effects and efficacy of massages through various clinical trials seems to be the main reason why Bodyfriend massage chairs were chosen as gifts during this family month when health is a hot topic."
