[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City Medical Center will resume normal operations including surgeries and inpatient treatments starting from the 6th.
Seongnam City Medical Center was originally scheduled to officially open on March 17, but after being designated as a national dedicated hospital for COVID-19 on February 23, the opening was postponed and the hospital has been operating to treat COVID-19 patients.
As of the 4th, 147 confirmed COVID-19 patients have been hospitalized and treated here. Among them, 133 have been discharged and 14 are currently receiving inpatient treatment.
Since the 1st of last month, the medical center has been operating limited outpatient services in 15 departments and an emergency medical center.
A medical center official stated, "From the 6th, the number of medical departments will be expanded to 21, and surgeries and inpatient treatments will also be carried out. In addition to the emergency medical center, four other centers including the Rehabilitation Treatment Center, Health Screening Center, and Medical Support Cooperation Center will also operate normally."
The medical center will separate the patient and medical staff flow between the 9th-floor ward where COVID-19 patients are admitted and other wards, and will continue to operate the screening clinic.
