[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Yeongju City, Gyeongbuk Province, announced on the 4th that it will provide a total of 5 billion KRW, ranging from 500,000 to 3 million KRW each, to small business owners affected by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Stores visited by COVID-19 patients or operated by confirmed cases will receive 3 million KRW, those with a sales decrease of 50% or more will receive 1 million KRW, and other small business owners will receive 500,000 KRW each. Separately, small business owners with sales of 150 million KRW or less in 2019 will be supported with 0.8% of their card fees (up to 500,000 KRW).
Eligible small business owners can apply from the 6th to the 29th at the COVID-19 damage small business support project reception desk set up at the Citizen Sports Complex. Applications will be processed in a five-day rotation system based on the birth year of the business representative.
Jang Wook-hyun, Mayor of Yeongju City, said, "We have simplified administrative procedures as much as possible for prompt execution," and added, "We hope this will help small business owners who are struggling due to COVID-19 to recover from damages and stabilize their livelihoods, even if only a little."
