[Asia Economy Reporter Han Seung-gon] Kim Yujin (27), a freelance PD who has repeatedly apologized after being embroiled in school violence allegations ahead of her marriage to chef Lee Won-il (41), is reported to have attempted an extreme act. Currently, Kim PD is hospitalized in the intensive care unit without consciousness.

Lee, a cousin of Kim PD, told Yonhap News on the 4th, "Kim PD attempted an extreme act around 3 a.m. today, was found by family members, and was transported by ambulance to the emergency room of a university hospital," adding, "She is currently unconscious."

Lee also shared a heartfelt message that Kim PD reportedly left on her private social network service (SNS). On the account followed by chef Lee as well, a post read, "I just want to clear the injustice and hope that no further harm comes to Chef Lee Won-il and our families. I will bear everything myself."

The allegations that Kim PD committed school violence, including assaulting peers during her school days, surfaced on the 21st of last month. On that day, an online community posted a message titled, "'Bureopji' celebrity look-alike bride-to-be PD is a perpetrator of group assault."

The author began, "These days, the person often appearing on various entertainment programs and portal site main pages as the fianc?e of a star chef will likely walk a path of success, but I had tried hard to forget and thought I had finally overcome the trauma," continuing, "However, I could no longer endure how often I would have to see this person on TV and the internet, so I wrote this post."

The author claimed, "When I was 16 in 2008, I was subjected to group assault by this famous fianc?e PD in Auckland, New Zealand."

They added, "At a karaoke room, the fianc?e PD hit my crying head, pushed my face, lowered her head to look at me, and mocked, 'Hey, are you crying? Why are you crying? What did you do well to cry?'" and emphasized, "I repeat, the fianc?e PD was definitely there."

The author explained, "The reason I was assaulted was simple," stating, "I had spoken ill of A, the fianc?e PD's boyfriend, so I had to be beaten."

As the controversy spread, on the 22nd, chef Lee Won-il posted handwritten apology letters from himself and Kim PD on his Instagram.

Chef Lee opened by saying, "I bow my head and apologize for causing discomfort due to the controversy surrounding my fianc?e, PD Kim Yujin," adding, "Regardless of the facts, I feel heavy-hearted as it brings back painful wounds."

He said, "I am sorry for disappointing and worrying everyone who supported us with loving eyes," and promised, "We will resolve this matter amicably so that no one is hurt any further."

However, public opinion questioned the sincerity of the apology, and on the 23rd, chef Lee and Kim PD posted a second apology.

On that day, chef Lee said on his Instagram, "I sincerely apologize once again for the fact that my fianc?e caused those who should have had joyful and happy school days to endure painful times, and for not responding more quickly and clearly, which caused the victims to be hurt again by past memories."

Kim PD also apologized through chef Lee Won-il’s Instagram, stating, "I hurt my friends with abusive language. I hurt my friends with physical violence. I ignored friends because I didn’t like them. I sowed discord among friends I didn’t like. Besides these, I behaved in ways that hurt my friends."

Chef Lee and Kim PD met and started dating through a 2018 broadcast program. The two appeared on MBC TV’s dating observation entertainment show 'Bureoumyeon Jineungoda' (If You’re Envious, You Lose), revealing their marriage preparations, but withdrew voluntarily after the controversy arose.
