[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon City is recruiting tourism venture companies to participate in the '2020 Incheon Tourism Venture Business Contest' until the 15th.
The contest covers all tourism business fields that can contribute to revitalizing Incheon tourism. Applicants must be individual business owners or small and medium-sized enterprise corporations located in Incheon, established within the last 7 years. Young entrepreneurs will receive additional preference points.
The final selected companies will receive up to 20 million KRW in commercialization funds, along with customized support such as tourism academies, expert consulting, and integrated online and offline promotional marketing.
Detailed information on eligibility and application methods can be found on the contest website (www.icntourventure.com).
The contest, aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of Incheon’s tourism industry and expanding job creation, began in 2018 with a youth tourism content contest. Last year, support for early-stage venture companies in the Incheon area resulted in the creation of 26 jobs and attracted 6,135 tourists.
An official from Incheon City stated, "This year, to help overcome the stagnation of Incheon’s tourism industry caused by COVID-19, we plan to actively nurture 10 outstanding tourism venture companies with high growth potential, twice as many as last year."
