Rapper Microdot (real name Shin Jae-ho) expressed his apologies once again after the prison sentences for his parents, who were indicted on fraud charges, were confirmed. On the 1st, he wrote on SNS, "I want to once again apologize to those who were harmed by my parents and to those who were hurt because of my shortcomings." He added, "I am sorry for having spoken carelessly without fully understanding the situation when the news about my parents was reported, causing pain to the victims," and said, "I am still deeply reflecting on this."
Microdot wrote, "No words can turn back time, but my parents' wrongdoing is also my fault," and "Over the past year and a half, I have made every effort, though insufficient, to accurately understand the facts and to correct my parents' mistakes." He continued, "I will always be careful not to repeat the same mistakes as I look back on my inadequate actions."
Microdot's father, Mr. Shin, and mother, Ms. Kim, operated a dairy farm in Jecheon in the past and borrowed about 400 million won from relatives and acquaintances. They were prosecuted for fleeing to New Zealand without repaying the debt. On the 24th of last month, the Criminal Appeals Division 1 of Cheongju District Court sentenced Mr. Shin to three years in prison, the same as the original sentence. The original sentence of one year in prison for Ms. Kim was upheld. They submitted a waiver of appeal to the court, confirming the original sentences.
