[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Two additional bodies, including a missing Korean teacher and a Nepalese person, were found following the avalanche that occurred in Annapurna, Nepal, last January. With the recovery of all four missing Korean teachers' bodies, the government plans to consult with the bereaved families regarding funeral arrangements.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at around 11:45 a.m. local time on the 1st, Nepalese military police and local search teams discovered two bodies while searching the accident site. Through passports found on the bodies, it was confirmed that one of the two was a missing female teacher.

The three bodies found at the end of last month are currently kept at the morgue of the Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu, and the Korean national body found on this day is expected to be transported to Kathmandu soon.

An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained, "Two additional bodies were recovered at the accident site," adding, "It was confirmed through passports found on the bodies that they were Korean nationals."

Earlier, on January 17, four teachers from the Chungnam Office of Education were swept away by an avalanche along with three Nepalese guides (including one from another group) while descending from Deurali Mountain Lodge in the Himalayas' Annapurna region. The body of the Nepalese guide from the other group was found in February, and the body of the Nepalese person accompanying the Koreans was discovered on the 22nd.

Among the remaining missing persons, the bodies of two individuals (one male and one female) were found on the 25th, and the body of a male teacher was found on the 27th. All remaining missing bodies have now been confirmed.

An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "Going forward, the government will closely coordinate with the bereaved families, Chungnam Office of Education, and Nepalese authorities to continue providing consular assistance related to the funeral procedures for the four recovered missing persons."
