[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] VIXX member Hongbin will temporarily suspend his entertainment activities. This comes two months after the 'disparagement of other idols controversy' on the internet broadcasting platform Twitch.
VIXX's agency Jellyfish Entertainment stated on the 1st, "Regarding Hongbin's future activities, we have decided to stop Twitch broadcasts after thorough consultation with the artist," adding, "Other entertainment activities will also be temporarily suspended as we prepare to greet fans again."
They continued, "We are continuously monitoring malicious posts related to VIXX, including malicious slander, sexual harassment, spreading false information, insults, and defamation, and are confirming the legal complaint procedures through our law firm."
Jellyfish Entertainment warned of a strong response, stating, "We will strongly respond using all legal means without any settlement or leniency against those who write and distribute posts that may damage the reputation of our artists."
Previously, on March 1st, Hongbin conducted a drinking broadcast on the internet platform Twitch. During the broadcast, he disparaged songs and choreography such as SHINee's "Everybody" and INFINITE's "Be Mine." Subsequently, Hongbin, VIXX member Ravi, and Jellyfish Entertainment issued official apologies.
