[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon criticized a column supporting Yoo Si-min, chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, on the 28th as a "typical false consciousness."

On the same day, former professor Jin shared a column titled "We Are the Mainstream, I Am Willingly on Yoo Si-min's Side" on his Facebook, criticizing, "My goodness, Yoo Si-min is indeed the mainstream. You are not the mainstream."

He continued, "Does the word 'we' bridge the gap in status? You don't understand the subject," pointing out, "This is typical false consciousness."

He also wrote, "Not long ago, I said 'the mainstream of the Republic of Korea has changed,' but it seems he misunderstood that as meaning he himself had become the mainstream."

Earlier, on the 23rd, former professor Jin said, after former Busan Mayor Oh Keo-don admitted to sexual harassment and resigned, "The mainstream of the Republic of Korea has changed."

In a post on his Facebook, he pointed out, "In the past, such incidents were mainly committed by personnel from conservative parties. That’s why nicknames like 'Seongnara Party' and 'Seongnuri Party' were created."

He added, "Recently, sexual harassment incidents have mainly been caused by Democratic Party figures. Ahn Hee-jung, Jeong Bong-ju, Min Byung-doo, Oh Keo-don, etc.," calling it a "shocking incident."

Meanwhile, former Chungnam Governor Ahn Hee-jung was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison for sexually assaulting and harassing his secretary Kim Ji-eun by abusing his position.

Former Democratic Party lawmaker Jeong Bong-ju declared his candidacy for Seoul mayor in the 2018 local elections but withdrew after allegations of sexual harassment against a university student surfaced. Former Democratic Party lawmaker Min Byung-doo also announced his resignation due to sexual harassment allegations but returned after about two months.
